Here’s an interesting looking and innovative conference–an online conference for librarians interested in technology. It features a day of presentations at scheduled times plus a new twist: a virtual exhibit hall on the second day. According to the website, themes of the presentations include e-books, location-based social networking, lending devices, and reference and mobile technologies impacting society. The keynote speaker will be Jolie O’Dell, Editor and Publisher at Juniper Press. The registration fee is $45 for an individual, with special rates for groups. The conference was organized by Learning Times, an online conference producer.
The virtual exhibition is free to attend. It consists of “a series of live presentations by companies and organizations providing handheld products and services to libraries as well as virtual booths where you can stop in and visit in real-time with representatives from each company”. Some of the exhibitors will be conducting demonstrations of their products as well.
