Welcome to the IL 2008 Blog!

Welcome to the Information Today blog for the Internet Librarian 2008 conference! Please continue to watch this space for news as the time for the conference approaches.

The conference this year will be in the same place as last year–Monterey, CA. The dates are October 20-22. The concurrent Internet@Schools West conference will be on October 20 and 21. Click here to see the advance programs and get full details. You can also view the conference wiki, where there is a wealth of additional information as well as lots of "helpful hints to the wise" here

Pre-conference workshops, on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, and will include three full-day sessions: Searchers Academy, Web Managers Academy, and Academic Libraries 2.0.

New this year is the Gaming & Gadgets Petting Zoo, hosted by Aaron Schmidt and Erik Boekesteijn, which will take place on Sunday, October 19, from 5:30 to 8:30.

Once again, the ITI editorial staff will be blogging both conferences live, so be sure to check this blog often. And if you’re planning to blog the conference and haven’t been in touch with me, please click on my name below and send me an e-mail. You will receive a special "BLOGGER" ribbon,

access to the press room, and a link to your blog will be available on the conference blogger’s page.

Flickr and Technorati tags for Internet Librarian and Internet@Schools West are IL2008 and ISW2008, respectively. Please add these to your postings.

The Internet Librarian conferences always offer a rich experience for attendees.  IL2008 is the 12th in the series.  It’s time now to register for the conferences and make your airline and hotel arrangements, if you haven’t already done so.

If you need any help or any further information, please get in touch. I look forward to seeing you soon in Monterey!
