President Bush to Speak

Yes, you read that correctly. President George Bush is speaking in the International Ballroom at the Washington Hilton tonight, just missing the opportunity to deliver our opening keynote by about 15 hours. ITI’s meeting planner, Stacey Sochachi, says Secret Service teams will “sweep” the Concourse level and exhibit areas in the hours before Bush’s appearance this evening, and the path the President follows from his limousine to the ballroom podium is tightly secured.

Since White House press credentials are hard to come by for bloggers these days, this blog team will stick covering to the really important events happening around Washington this week like the Computers in Libraries conference!
