Speaking of independent information professionals, one of the busy areas has been the well-lit Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) booth #228. Directors and regular members volunteer time for setup and staffing, and attendees can stop by and hear real live stories from practitioners in the trenches. AIIP held a board meeting on Sunday, with a two-hour open portion for members to sit in on. AIIP reports increasing membership numbers, and a new initiative to expand their global reach.
